About Us
Here at the WAVES swim Club we strive for excellence in all our athletes, working hard in and out of the pool room to improve the all-around performance of our swimmers. With inspirational methods and honesty we try to keep our athletes focused, with hard work we try to build a toughness that is not just physical but mental as well and with fun we keep our athletes interested in swimming. Here we try to build not just swimmers but athletes that are not just physically and mentally strong but are also healthy and active. At the WAVES we try to put a competitive drive in our athletes, but a smile at the same time. Our Club is separated into three training groups; Whitecap group for the more improved, Kahuna for the middle class and Tsunami for the elite.

Our History
Our Vision |
The WAVES Swim Club was started after Brett Weilbaker left the high-profiled Boilermaker Aquatics club to help grow the homegrown talent in Rensselaer and surrounding area's. Weilbaker convinced his coaching talents were needed elsewhere, and with the help of a few highly committed parents started the WAVES Swim Club.
The WAVES Swim Club is a competitive swimming program established to promote a healthy lifestyle and provide opportunities for our community through the sport of swimming. Our club’s name, WAVES, stands for the following: With A Vision Everyone Succeeds. We are committed to building excellence in our athletes, while enhancing their physical, mental and social development and striving for continuous personal improvement in and out of the water. Our athletes will come to value competition, sportsmanship, success, strength and team spirit.
